Miss China has won the coveted title of Miss World today, triumphing on home soil during a glitzy final held in a mining city on the edge of the Gobi desert. Yu Wenxia was crowned Miss World 2012. The 23-year-old music student from China edged out Sophie Elizabeth Moulds of Wales and Jessica Michelle Kahawaty of Australia for the title.
WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH MISS SWAZILAND?
For some reason, Miss Swaziland didn't take part in this prestigious event. I mean really, even Miss South Sudan was there amidst everything that's happening in her country, sibanjwe yini ke tsine? Actually, it was a bit embarassing when some Swazis on Twitter started Tweeting about not even knowing the reigning Miss SD. By the way, Miss South Sudan was a hot favourite along the Twitter streets and guess what? She made it to the Top 7. *whoop whoop*
Well maybe REEMS can explain to us in simple English why we never ever see our queen anywhere. Worse still, why it's such a mission to get her for a mere interview? Isn't she crowned for us to use her as we please as our queen?
It's high time we start taking these things seriously and decide whether we're on or off the bus. We're talking beauty with a purpose here - let's see all our beauties go out there and make a difference in the lives of those in need.
