PAKISHAN PAKISHAN: Plan your MTN Bushfire weekend now!

With less than one month to go until the 10th MTN Bushfire Festival, time is running out to secure your tickets and accommodation for what has been described by CNN as one of the “7 African music festivals you really have to see”, and most recently as BBC’s Top African Festival.

Every year MTN Bushfire camping, as well as most local hotels, are completely booked prior to the festival’s start, so if you haven’t done so already – now is the time to plan your trip with the help of the various travel and accommodation packages offered below.

The best way to plan your MTN Bushfire weekend is to check out all the ticketing, accommodation and travel options on the MTN Bushfire website, www.bush-fire.com.

Some reminders for everyone traveling to Swaziland – please remember that over 20,000 people attend MTN Bushfire many of them coming from outside of Swaziland and the borders can be heavy with traffic. Consider using one of the lower volume border posts (they keep shorter hours than Golela and Oshoek visit:  http://www.thekingdomofswaziland.com/pages/content/index.asp?PageID=22 for operating hours) or think about planning your trip to arrive the day before or at least early in the day to avoid long waits at immigration.

SOUTH AFRICA REQUIRES ADDITIONAL PAPERWORK TO BRING MINORS ACROSS THE BORDER! PLEASE ENSURE UNABRIDGED BIRTH CERTIFICATES AND OTHER NECESSARY PAPERWORK IS SECURED BEFORE YOU LEAVE!

All of the various travel options below, as well as all ticketing options and full festival information are available on the website.

About MTN Bushfire
Whilst MTN Bushfire is most well-known as Southern Africa’s most diverse and inclusive world music festival that has always featured artists from over a dozen countries,  it is also an arts & culture festival.  The event includes contemporary and traditional visual and performing arts, cultural activities including a compelling line-up of theatre, poetry, dance, art exhibits & installations, story-telling, puppetry, film, as well as themed workshops and design installations – making it a sensory explosion of fun and  activity for the whole family.

To round out the MTN entertainment experience, the festival also boasts a fresh & healthy craft food market, a regional design and hand-made speciality goods market, as well as family-friendly camping, performances & the KidZone.

Over the past decade, MTN Bushfire has continually brought its fire with a significant percentage of profits supporting local charities including Young Heroes, an initiative that supports over 1,000 AIDS orphans.  With its extensive schools and artist outreach into Swaziland and a focus on local participation, MTN BUSHFIRE serves, in the words of one journalist, “as a living, breathing, creative ecosystem.”

All tickets and camping for MTN Bushfire 2016 are available online only – with no physical ticket outlets open this year. With MTN Bushfire 2015 tickets selling out completely before the festival gates even opened, fans are encouraged to book early.
